Why are people and the community important to us?
Tarmac Building Products is a major organisation and our business is connected to communities and people in lots of ways. Whether it is employees or potential employees, customers, contractors, or our direct neighbours and the wider local community, we want to have positive relationships. This means being ethical and honest, and carrying out our business in a safe way.

Health and Safety
The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, contractors and all visitors is our top priority. Our culture is based on continuous improvement and we aim for zero harm.
Stakeholder engagement
It’s important that we try to communicate clearly, openly and honestly with all our stakeholders. Our sustainability framework was developed from stakeholder consultation, we have consulted customers on how best we can help them with sustainable construction (the Tarmac Homes and Nurture Future projects are examples of our response) and our sustainability report tries to present an open and honest picture of what we do.
Working with communities
We try to be a good neighbour, contributing to the communities in which we work not just as an employer, but supporting local projects and making a positive difference. Also, importantly, listening and acting when we don’t perform to the standards they require.
