SafetyDeck - installation of the safe working platform

SafetyDeck is delivered to site and installed by fully trained fixing teams, all CSCS registered.

The lightweight components are quickly assembled to create the working area, with up to 400m2 installed per day by the two-man team.

The decking system will be installed the day before the work at height operation commences and remain in place until the operation is completed.

Using the full delivery and installation service provided by the SafetyDeck team removes the need to store materials on site and avoids the use of expensive or untrained site personnel to erect the system.

SafetyDeck applications

HSE statistics show that falls from height are the most common cause of fatal injury and the second most common cause of major injury to employees.  The Work at Height Regulations 2005 came into affect on 6th April 2005 and are applicable to all work at height where there is a risk of fall liable to cause personal injury.

SafetyDeck is at the top of the hierarchy of safety in that it is a passive system that can be used to prevent a fall.

Designed to offer a cost-effective and adaptable solution for anyone working at height, SafetyDeck is particularly suited to the installation of flooring and roofing systems as well as many of the finishing trades.

Installation of precast concrete flooring systems

SafetyDeck is suitable for the installation of all precast concrete flooring systems, offering fall prevention rather than just a fall arrest system. It is particularly suitable when installing beam and block flooring at upper floor levels.

SafetyDeck is used by a number of precast flooring manufacturers and specialist fixing companies and the system is approved by the PFF (Precast Flooring Federation).

Installation of roof trusses and timber joists

Used by a number of the major developers, contractors, and roof truss manufacturers, Safetydeck offers the ideal solution to protect workers from falls from height.

As it is a passive system allowing full freedom of movement, the installation of timber joists, roof trusses and flat roof systems can be carried out quickly and efficiently.

SafetyDeck customer comments

What our customers think:

"Since the introduction of SafetyDeck, C R Longley have used both the product and the installation service on all upper floor beam and block installations we carry out. We find it to be the premium passive fall arrest system on the market and is installed and removed from site with minimal fuss."

Wayne Stead, Contracts Manager, Longley Concrete Floors, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire

"SafetyDeck is an ideal solution to eliminate the risk of injury from falls from height during the installation of hollowcore and beam & block flooring. We have succesfully used the product since it was invented in 1998. It is lightweight and quick to install and their experienced installers can install up to 400m sq each day."

James Neville, Commercial Manager, Tarmac Topfloor, Weston Underwood, Derbyshire

"We have used the SafetyDeck product for a number of years now as we clearly understood at an early stage, the need to protect a person falling from height when installing timber joists. The new regulations issued by the HSE reinforced this in April 2005.

We have found SafetyDeck to be a reliable service and have been impressed with the simplicity and speed of installation and removal. SafetyDeck show professionalism whenever they come to a William Davis site."

Chas Szychowski, Health & Safety Officer, William Davis Ltd, Loughborough, Leicestershire

"I'm really impressed with SafetyDeck. Your fixers gave me a quick, no hassle service and the guys in the office were able to sort out our problems in a really helpful and polite way. I hope to be working with you again on another Antler Homes site."

Glen Smith, Site Manager, Antler Homes, Romsey, Hampshire

"Crendon Timber Engineering have used SafetyDeck on a variety of projects over the past 5 years ranging in value from 20-25 thousand pounds, Crendon have found their service to be excellent in terms of quality, product use and adaptability, and would recommend the use of this product to others.

The product is of benefit over and above traditional scaffold due to the speed with which the system can be installed and struck on completion. Cost benefits also influence choice of the system when compared to costs for traditional scaffold."

Graham Morris, Quantity Surveyor, Crendon Timber Engineering Limited
