Article Detail

Ultralite is a super lightweight solid aggregate block manufactured from a blend of lightweight aggregates and cement. It is very light and easy to use and provides good all round technical performance. It is available in a 100mm width.

Hemelite Ultralite working dimensions

Ultralite has a face size of 440mm long x 215mm. Block width is 100mm.

Hemelite Ultralite weights

Unit weight: 9.4kg

Laid weight including mortar: 104kg/m²

Unit and laid weights are approximate and calculated based on the specified dry density with 3% moisture content by volume added to provide equilibrium weights.

Hemelite Ultralite availability

Ultralite is currently produced at our Midlands block plants and is likely to be more competitive in the Midlands and surrounding counties, but please contact our Sales Team for prices and availability.

Hemelite Ultralite benefits

  • Good thermal performance compared to denser materials, saving the cost of extra insulation
  • Granular texture provides a good key for plasters and renders
  • Suitable for new buildings as well as extensions and refurbishment work
  • High levels of fire resistance and sound insulation

Hemelite Ultralite applications

  • Inner leaves of cavity walls
  • Outer leaves of cavity walls, rendered or clad
  • Internal partitions
  • Walls below ground - not to be exposed

Hemelite Ultralite specification

  • Mean compressive strength: 3.6N/mm²
  • Gross dry density: 960kg/m³
  • Thermal conductivity (at 3% moisture content): 0.33W/mK
  • Reaction to fire: Class A1
